I bought a new camera the other day and here is its self-portrait. Much lighter than the 1d MkII and I like the fact that it fits into my pocket. Never know when you’re gonna be able to get a shot, like the one below I found while waiting for Tony to fix my ride.

If you own a Harley, look for Tony at Custom Cycles. He’s the man!

Today, I finally became convinced that photos don’t need to be sharp to be appealing. More accurately, that I could take out of focus pictures of mundane objects and be happy with them. All those late nights analysing test charts of different lenses to select the sharpest ones gone down the drain! :p

This reminds me of a philosophy class in college on Plato. What is the perfect example of a chair? If it had five legs, would it still be a chair? If it only had a surface to rest one’s rear one, is it a chair? These days, I tend to think that Plato had confused human constructs with the concept of “Forms”.There are probably very few if any “Forms”. Existence exists independently of how we classify ideas and items. Therefore, there is no perfect example of a chair because there is no such thing as a chair. There is however an item with four legs that we often use for the purpose of what we generally describe to be a “chair”.
